The legacy of the Rahbani Brothers theater, which is full of warmth and simplicity, was present in the evening, during which the Qased Orchestra, led by musician Kamal Skiker, chose to start its first concert for the 2022 season.
The evening, which was hosted by the opera stage at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts, was entitled “In the presence of the Rahbaneh.” Academic musicians and singers, Wissam al-Shaer on the accordion, Wahba Fahem and Suleiman Harfouche participated in singing.
The evening program varied in terms of the plays presented by the Rahbani brothers over a period of twenty years, although some of the songs presented during them were by other composers such as Elias Rahbani and Philemon Wehbe.
The beginning was with the orchestra playing the battle piece from the play Jisr Al-Qamar, to be performed after that, and then he understood the two songs of “You are good and Bakr Al-Hawa” for the choir to perform the song Jisr Al-Qamar.
The second part of the evening, in which Fahmeh performed with the orchestra the two sad songs of the North Nights, and the winter came back from the station play, while in the third part of the evening, the orchestra played the accompaniment of the poet on the accordion, cutting the keypad, to present Harfoush the song Weinen.
The fourth part of the evening was devoted to the play of Mais al-Reem, where Harfouche performed the song “Ya Mareq ala al-Tawahin”.
The last part of the evening was devoted to a lyrical link from the two plays “Ayam Al-Samif” and “Lulu”, where Harfouche performed the two songs “Ten” and “Saif Al-Marajel” was judged to be the end of the evening through a duet with the orchestra by Fahmeh and Harfoush for a song from Ezz Al-Num.
