It is a paint that has been proven to rid surfaces of germs.

This is practical – especially on buses where many viruses meet.

Regensburg - Not only we humans have to wear protection against Corona * - the Regensburg buses have now also been "covered" - with paint.

As the Regensburger* Stadtwerk reports, it has recoated the Regensburg buses with a special paint that kills germs, such as those of the corona virus, for at least a year.

This has been scientifically proven.

In this way, the municipal utility wants to ensure that public transport is used with a clear conscience.

Corona in Regensburg: special paint has an antimicrobial and environmentally friendly effect

By the end of 2020, they had already tested the antimicrobial and environmentally friendly paint on various surfaces such as the handrails, buttons and armrests.

The paint is produced by the Regensburg-based company Dyphox, which emphasizes that the technology rids the surfaces of germs using air and light alone.

Experience and investigations have shown that the surfaces remain germ-free over the long term.

That is why investments in this hygiene technology were made again in December 2021.

The head of the Regensburg public utility company is convinced

The managing director of the Regensburger Stadtwerke, Manfred Koller, is convinced: "With the investment, we not only want to give passengers a better and safer feeling during a bus ride, but also to significantly counteract the spread of viruses and bacteria via surface contact."
