Before the intersection conversion, drivers in Dorfen were very skeptical.
The current switching of the traffic lights on Rosenaustraße now seems to confirm the fears.
But it will be upgraded.
Dorfen
– Patience is sometimes required on the B 15 through-town in Dorfen.
The conversion of the intersection with Rosenaustrasse has been complete since mid-December.
Many motorists now see their fears confirmed that the new traffic lights will only make things worse.
"Catastrophe to the power of ten" is one of the nicer comments that can be read in the Dorfen group on Facebook.
This is also due to a temporary traffic light, the Freising State Building Authority now explains.
A traffic-based tax will be installed in the spring.
The conversion "defuses a dangerous intersection and improves the situation, especially for cyclists and pedestrians," emphasizes spokesman Thomas Jakob in a press release.
However, the traffic light still regulates the traffic in the standard program - in other words, it switches to green for crossing traffic, even if there are no cars, cyclists or pedestrians waiting there.
The reason: Due to the cold weather at the end of 2021, it was no longer possible to install the asphalt surface layer in the crossing area and the induction loops required for traffic-dependent control.
This is expected to happen in the spring.
The State Building Authority will inform you in good time about the exact date.
In addition to the traffic-dependent traffic lights with green and red phases of different lengths, adapted curve radii and wider sidewalks make the intersection safer for cyclists, pedestrians and motorists.
In addition, the transitions are now barrier-free and equipped with an acoustic signal for the visually impaired.
