Artist George Choueit is distinguished by his artistic paintings that summarize people's concerns and dreams through caricature in a manner that combines creativity and high technology, in addition to twinning some of his paintings with a very short story.

Shweit describes the art of caricature as the art of surprising and revealing, which crosses borders and cultures, is quarrelsome, is out of the ordinary and imitates.

The caricature, according to the artist Shweit, differs from other arts, where the painter stands to contemplate reality with sarcasm and transcends abstraction and comes with simplicity and uniqueness, as it is the pulse of the street that measures people's pain and reflects the conditions of the simple and the toiling.

Shweit confirms in an interview with SANA that the first flashes of this art began with the dawn of the oldest civilizations, where we see paintings of it installed on the walls of Pharaonic temples in Egypt and other regions of the world.

Shawit shows that despite the simplicity of the lines of the caricature drawing, it comes after labors that may be difficult and difficult as it is easy and abstaining, and it fuses as an idea in the artist’s imagination, then soon comes out with its full pain, born laughing and crying at the same time, telling the tongue of human beings around the world in a way loaded with surprise and dazzling.

And the publication of caricatures does not stop on the pages of newspapers and magazines, as Choueit asserts, as there are artists from a geographical area of the world who have excelled in communicating their paintings through elegant books that included hundreds of works and were received by libraries and voracious readers, and even television programs on satellite channels allocate a good space for displaying local, Arab and international caricatures.

However, Choueit, who won an international award in caricature from the United Nations, admits that the status of this art is no longer what it was in the past, with the decline of the role of the paper press and the tyranny of the digital language, as any event that takes place in the East and West of the earth is reached with the push of a button for all readers and without trouble.

As for his writing of the story in addition to the drawing, Shawit shows the similarities between the caricature drawing and the very satirical short story in terms of its participation in distinct characteristics, including condensation, shortness, irony, criticism and endearing fun while providing pleasure and benefit to the recipient.

It is noteworthy that the painter George Choueit published his works in many local and Arab newspapers and magazines. He has many solo exhibitions, most of them at Tishreen University in Lattakia and in a number of governorates, Lebanon and Arab countries. He practiced journalism for more than 40 years, locally and in the Arab world, and received local and international awards in the field of caricature and story. He also worked in The theater has contributions in the field of short films. He is the president of the Youth Film Club and a member of the judging committees in literary competitions for the Youth Union of Young Writers.
