The Jerusalem Police Prosecution Unit today (Thursday) filed an indictment against two young men in their twenties, residents of North Jerusalem, who are accused of breaking into a school in the north of the city and stealing a lot of technological property and causing damage to the place.
The break-in to the school, which is located in the Beit Hanina neighborhood, took place about two weeks ago.
The burglars stole NIS 8,000 in cash, 25 computers and 35 tablets worth NIS 55,000 and fled the scene, not before wreaking havoc on the deputy principal's room and another room.
Police station police officers who arrived at the scene, began a number of investigative actions which quickly led them to two of the four suspects who have not yet been arrested.
Also, one of the suspects, is none other than the son of one of the school principals.
The investigation revealed that in order to reach the school and load the stolen equipment, the suspect used his father's vehicle.
The two were arrested and questioned and today, as stated, the indictment was filed against them.
A senior officer at the Jerusalem District Judicial Station, Superintendent Yosef Amsalem, told Israel Today:
Property offenses that occur in the city are handled by a variety of police forces, with determination and all the tools at our disposal.
We do not compromise in using all means and forces in locating those involved and collecting the evidence, with the aim of prosecuting these criminals who damage the residents' property, and we did so in this case, immediately upon receiving the incident an investigation was opened. Arrested in the act.
We will continue to take action against burglars and other property offenders in order to maintain the peace of the public and its property wherever and whenever required. "
