The love story of Ruthie Brodo and her partner Guy Pollack sounds like it was created as a plot of a romantic flight book.
It all started 24 years ago, when the two first met - he was after studying at the prestigious Cordon Bleu culinary institution in Paris, just before the start of an internship, and she controlled "Coffee Bar", her first restaurant and that of her then-husband and professional partner, Matti Brodo.
Polk came to Coffee Bar in 1997, which is celebrating its 27th birthday this year, with the aim of tasting the famous roast beef dish it made in Rudo.
Taste a little - and stay for more tastings, which have been going on for two and a half decades.
"Guy came from Paris by mistake, after being told that on Yad Harutzim Street in Tel Aviv there is the most delicious roast beef in the world," Brodo recalls.
"He came when the place was already working nicely, but still not on weekends and did not serve non-kosher dishes, because in those days I had matters with my religious side.
I grew up in a religious home, and I did not want to upset anyone. "
Folk: "I came to Tel Aviv for the summer because I wanted to work a little before my internship. I did not know what was updated in the city, so I asked for help from a company that knows restaurants. She told me about the Coffee Bar. I got there on Friday, to meet Ruthie, and on Sunday I started work".

Brodo: "It was not like that. Guy came with his brother-in-law, two big men. He was very shy, and I was sure they were gay. At that point I was not really professional yet. There was good food in the restaurant, but there were no techniques and it was amateurish, so I was scared "To bring in someone who will see me naked and discover my methods in the kitchen. I knew that Guy, who came from Paris, would snatch the market of his life - and so it was."
In the first couple interview, the two talk about the joint work, the division and also how good friends become partners and how they tell this to their partner, who is also Ruthie's official husband.
The full interview with Ruthie and Guy will be published tomorrow (Friday) in the "Shishvat" supplement of "Israel Today"
