Kruger National Park – After the 2021 jungle camp had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic, the fans are all the more excited about the show in 2022. The twelve candidates have already been determined.

Instead of going to Australia, the candidates were flown to South Africa this year.

Among others, Harald Glööckler and last year's winner Filip Pavlovic are there.

Filming takes place near Kruger National Park.

Several seasons of the show's Australian counterpart ("I'ma Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!") have already been filmed there.

However, the set is not actually in the jungle, but has been specially built and is not far from civilization.

The national park is one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries in the country.

In order to be as sure as possible that none of the participants in the TV show contracted the corona virus during the broadcast, all participants flew to the country earlier and were quarantined there until the start. Christin Okpara already had to drive home when there were discrepancies with her vaccination card. Instead, substitute candidate Jasmin Herren followed.

Now the jungle camp had to announce further participant losses in 2022: Lucas Cordalis will not take part in the camp either.

Daniela Katzenberger's husband announced his participation last year and was considered one of the favourites.

A corona PCR test was positive, as RTL announced.

Cordalis is completely symptom-free.

It is unclear whether the son of the late singer Costa Cordalis will move up.

"He has been in self-isolation since the test result and is receiving close medical attention.

It is not yet clear whether he will move into the camp at a later date," said the broadcaster via Instagram.

In any case, only eleven celebrities will initially move into the camp, according to RTL.

The TV show begins on Friday January 21, 2022.

Of course, the rumor mill is already buzzing about whether it will stay that way or whether another star will move up for Cordalis.

There is no other official replacement yet.

However, Jasmin Wagner, known as the singer "Blümchen", appeared on a safari in the Kruger National Park.

And as you know, it's right next to the "jungle camp".

In any case, under the series of pictures with elephants, fans are already asking: "Are you a replacement candidate???" or "Are you participating in the RTL jungle???" Someone else commented: "A place would have become free now." And one person just writes in Capital letters: "Jungle camp!" So far, neither RTL nor Jasmin Wagner herself have commented on whether it's just a coincidence or whether there's really a connection with the show.
