A 63-year-old man from Cologne drove for 30 years through Cologne without a driver's license.
In Porz he was caught by the police.
They found even more irregularities.
Cologne – Driving without a driver's license, despite a driving ban or withdrawal of a driver's license, is not a trivial offense in Germany.
It is treated as a criminal offense - the maximum penalty is one year imprisonment.
A particularly brazen driver was caught in Cologne.
According to his own statements, he had been driving through the city without a license for 30 years.

The man was stopped by plainclothes police officers on Tuesday afternoon (January 18) at around 3:30 p.m.
The 63-year-old was there on Theodor-Heuss-Strasse in Porz.
The officers noticed a missing signal on the front license plate of the car.
"When the man was also unable to produce a driver's license during the subsequent check, he told the patrol that his driver's license had been revoked three decades ago and that he had been driving 'accident-free' through the city since then," reports a police spokesman.

The lack of a driver's license is not the only accusation that the 63-year-old from Cologne now has to deal with.
The police also accuse the man of driving his unregistered station wagon with incorrectly attached TÜV stickers and registration stamps.
He now expects ads for license plate misuse, driving without a license and a violation of the compulsory insurance law.
His car was towed.
