The number of new corona cases in Brandenburg has risen more within a day than ever since counting began in March 2020. The health authorities reported 5540 new infections, according to figures from the Robert Koch Institute on Thursday.

The previous high was 5034 new cases on December 10th.

Potsdam – The seven-day incidence of new corona infections in Brandenburg rose by around 100 to 788.9 within one day.

This puts the state well above the national average of 638.8 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week, but still below Berlin with 1154.2.

In Potsdam, the seven-day incidence rose to 1233.9.

In the district of Teltow-Fläming, too, it is now in four digits at 1016.6.
