Recently, when citizens walked through the subway station, did they find that the art paintings of some schools or non-profit-making groups that were originally displayed in the station suddenly disappeared?

The MTR Community Gallery has a history of 22 years, but it originally belonged to the exhibition category. Therefore, it is necessary to apply for a relevant license from the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department before it can continue to exhibit.

The MTR replied that some members of the public have inquired about the licenses of community galleries from the government departments, so they are currently reviewing related exhibitions.

A reporter from "Hong Kong 01" visited MTR stations in Tuen Mun and Tin Shui Wai today (20th) and found that art paintings originally placed by schools or non-profit organizations had been removed from the shelves.

Looking through the information on the MTR website, the "Community Gallery" existed as early as February 2000, with a history of nearly 22 years.

The first gallery is located on two footbridges connecting the Lam Tin MTR station.

At present, there are 64 community galleries and 130 exhibition panels in the MTR system. The works belong to the paintings of students from schools near the station and the creations of non-profit group artists.

MTR pointed out that it hopes to increase the sense of belonging of the residents in the district to the MTR station through the "community gallery", and provide a popular channel for various districts, so that different people have the opportunity to display their creative works and integrate into the community.
