Pandemic in Rhineland-Palatinate reaches new highs

The corona pandemic in Rhineland-Palatinate is rushing from peak to peak.
The health authorities registered 5,542 new infections on Thursday, more than ever before in one day.
The seven-day incidence jumped from 487.5 on Wednesday to 546.3, according to the state investigation office.
Mainz – Corona infection has currently been detected in 50,639 people (as of 2:10 p.m.) in Rhineland-Palatinate.
The state investigation office gave the proportion of the virus variant Omicron to the genetically examined infections in the laboratory at 90.8 percent.

The hospitalization incidence, which has hardly changed in the past few weeks - hospital admissions per week per 100,000 inhabitants - is now significantly higher.
This value rose from 3.84 to 4.42 in 24 hours.
The number of reported deaths from Covid-19 patients increased by 3 to 4760.
The city of Kaiserslautern recorded the highest seven-day incidence with 960.2.
This was followed by the state capital of Mainz (928.0), the district of Bad Kreuznach (851.7) and the district of Kaiserslautern (779.7).
The lowest incidence was 261.3 in the Southwest Palatinate district.
