President Bashar al-Assad received today Alexander Lavrentiev, the special envoy of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his accompanying delegation.
During the meeting, they talked about the latest developments on the regional and international arenas, and political issues of common interest, as President al-Assad considered that Western pressures that Russia is exposed to in many files come as a response to the important and active Russian role on the international scene and its defense of international law and its standing in the face of The immoral policies pursued by some Western countries and the attempts of these countries to create chaos in order to control other countries and the will of their people.
They also discussed areas of Syrian-Russian bilateral cooperation and the positive repercussions of this cooperation in the victories achieved against terrorism and the return of security and stability to most of the Syrian territories.
Lavrentiev conveyed President Putin's greetings to President al-Assad and the Syrian people, stressing that the Russian Federation attaches special importance to developing the relationship with Syria on an ongoing basis, strengthening cooperation between institutions from both parties, and supporting the Syrian people in everything that helps them overcome the effects of the war, expressing his country's satisfaction with the indications that Syria is returning. To play its important role on the Arab arena, which came as a result of Syria's victories and the will of its people to defend their land and rebuild their country.
President al-Assad expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by President Putin and officials in the Russian Federation at various levels to develop bilateral relations between the two countries and support the Syrian people in their war against terrorism.
