2022-01-20T18:55:50.797Z

A day after Erdogan announced a possible visit by the President of the Gaza Strip to his country, the foreign ministers of Israel and Turkey spoke on the phone • The Turkish president said he was interested in economic cooperation with Israel

The Turkish news agency Andulo reported tonight (Thursday) that Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlot Chebushalou spoke on the phone.

The report did not say anything about the content of the talks between the two foreign ministers.

President Erdogan said yesterday that he is working to develop ties with Israel and that President Yitzhak Herzog may pay a visit to Turkey in the near future.

Recall that only last week Erdogan called President Herzog and comforted him over the death of his mother.

"We are in talks with our Israeli partners and President Herzog may visit Turkey in the near future," the Turkish president was quoted as saying by the state news agency Andulo.

"We intend to bring about positive developments for cooperation with Israel in the economic field in the Mediterranean," the Turkish president added.
