The Bad Heilbrunner Sparkasse branch has been closed since the beginning of this year.

The anger about it still hasn't subsided.

Bad Heilbrunn – At the most recent municipal council meeting, Friedrich Bauer asked Mayor Thomas Gründl to seek talks with those responsible for the bank again.

However, Gründl immediately dampened all hopes that the situation would improve again.

Bauer: "Sparkasse is an important part of our infrastructure"

Due to his job, he has a lot to do with older fellow citizens, said general practitioner Bauer. The only thing that is praised in conversations is that money can be withdrawn at the Rewe market. "Apart from that, I hear a lot of complaints that people now have to drive to Bad Tölz and Benediktbeuern to pick up a bank statement or make a bank transfer." Many over 60-year-olds didn't want to or couldn't change their minds. However, the Sparkasse earned good money for a long time with this generation in particular: “It is not our fellow citizens’ fault that the European Central Bank offers such unfavorable conditions, that the banks have such low profit margins when granting loans.”

Gründl should therefore demand that the service for older citizens be improved, said Bauer.

“After all, the Sparkasse was an important part of our infrastructure.

As a municipality, we worked well and happily with her.” In his opinion, the Sparkasse should set up a statement printer and mailbox in public spaces that are emptied two or three times a week.

Gründl: Improve the ATM at the supermarket

"You speak to my soul," Gründl replied. "I just have to look at my parents. My father is 80 years old and he can't do any banking over his cell phone.” Gründl says he performed his duties, held talks with everyone involved, passed on the dissatisfaction of the population and handed over a list with 500 signatures. "But I'll say it quite frankly: with little success." It is "sad" how the ATM is currently attached to the Rewe market: "I don't feel comfortable there when I have to withdraw money."

After consultation with the Raiffeisenbank, at least a roof will probably be installed.

On the other hand, Gründl's suggestion of walling off a small room and leaving the statement printer in its current place was rejected.

Instead, the Sparkasse sends its customers the account statements by post if they so wish.

Customers can also have money sent to them.

In this case, the savings bank assumes liability.

In Gründl's opinion, it makes no sense to have any further discussions, "even if I would really like to tell you something else."
