As for private schools offering non-formal courses, i.e. tutorial schools, face-to-face classes at all levels are suspended until February 7.
The authorities pointed out that, as now is a critical time for preparing for the current Diploma of Secondary Education examination, secondary schools can arrange for Secondary 6 students to return to school for up to half a day of necessary learning and assessment activities while taking strict epidemic prevention measures.

A spokesman for the Education Bureau said that the epidemic situation has become more severe in recent days. There have been many confirmed cases of unknown origin in Hong Kong, and there has been invisible transmission in the community. There have also been confirmed or preliminary confirmed cases in schools. Teachers and students need to be tested and even quarantined.
The Education Bureau made the above decision after considering a number of factors.

The school will arrange staff on duty to handle school affairs and answer parental enquiries.

The bureau said that it will send a letter to schools later today to notify the relevant detailed arrangements, calling on staff, parents and students who have not yet been vaccinated to be vaccinated as soon as possible to protect themselves and their families, and to build more effective protective barriers for the campus and community.
The Education Bureau will closely monitor and cooperate with the development of the overall anti-epidemic measures in Hong Kong, and further study the school's class arrangements after the Lunar New Year holiday, which is expected to be announced before the end of this month.
