The mechanisms of service agencies and local councils’ workshops in As-Suwayda continue operations to remove the accumulated snow on closed main roads in the eastern and southeastern regions of the governorate within their work axes.
In a statement to SANA reporter, the Director of Readiness in Suwayda Governorate, Hussein Safi, explained that the mechanisms of the Technical Services Directorate have been working since the morning on the axes of Dahr al-Jabal Road (Salah and al-Hadega), Dam al-Rum, al-Mashnaf, al-Ajilat and Tarba-Taybeh in the direction of activated, while the mechanisms of the land reclamation project branch are working on the al-Kafr axis ( Habran - Miamas - Sahwat al-Khidr - Tal al-Lawz - Tallin) in the direction of (Salah) and back towards (Bahm and Qaisma).
Safi pointed out that the mechanisms of the Military Housing Corporation are also working to remove snow on the Shahba - Namira - Umm Dhubayb and Taybeh roads, while the city councils' workshops such as As-Suwayda and Salkhad worked to open the internal roads in them with salt spray, while other axes did not require work on them due to the few thicknesses and their melting within hours. Al-Nahar, stressing that the snow removal operations on the main roads towards the villages of the eastern and southeastern countryside have gone through good stages, with work continuing as long as the weather permits it, until the evening before the snow forms.
In turn, the Director of Technical Services in As-Suwayda, Engineer Adham Abu Asali, confirmed that the operations of opening roads and removing the accumulated snow on the axis of Dahr al-Jabal to the eastern villages are continuous and hampered by the continuous formation and thickness of ice due to the significant drop in temperatures in the area, as is the case also on the Dahr al-Jabal Sala road, warning the people of Driving on roads in such conditions, except for the necessity of the danger of traffic and the possibility of slipping due to snow, especially during the evening and night.
Last night, As-Suwayda Governorate witnessed snowfalls of varying intensity in the mountainous and elevated areas and a number of interior areas, including the city, with layers of ice forming due to the significant drop in temperatures, which caused many roads to be impassable or impassable with difficulty, as the concerned authorities began to open and remove snow on them.
