The health sector in Aleppo Governorate continues to provide free medical and treatment services and medicines to citizens through more than 70 health centers, medical points and 8 hospitals in the countryside of the governorate and the city.

Dr. Ziyad Al-Hajj Taha, Director of Aleppo Health, said in a statement to SANA reporter that there are 3 hospitals and 5 administrative medical bodies that provide free treatment to patients, including Al-Razi Hospital, which specializes in emergency services, surgeries, and outpatient clinics, and Zahi Azraq Hospital, which deals with internal medicine and the provision of medicines for chronic diseases, including multiple sclerosis and other diseases. Joints, biological and immunological drugs, chemotherapy for cancer diseases, and the state maternity hospital for gynecology.

Hajj Taha explained that there are health and specialized centers throughout the governorate for thalassemia, tuberculosis, diabetes, dentistry, primary health care for vaccine and leishmaniasis services, inpatient clinics, children and reproductive health, and a large number of mobile clinics and mobile teams that roam remote rural areas where there are no health centers serving the population.

Hajj Taha pointed out that the health sector has been damaged by terrorism and the ongoing work to restore hospitals and health centers. Specialized hospital bodies that have been targeted by terrorism, including children, eye, heart surgery, and college, are currently providing medical and therapeutic services to citizens. The ambulance system has also been re-established in service after it was damaged, and the number of cars in it has reached About 30 ambulances equipped with the latest medical and first aid technologies, and work is continuing to restore the rest of the medical centers.

SANA’s camera monitored the reality of services in Al-Razi Hospital, where Dr. Rizkallah Malo, director of the hospital, explained that patients and emergency cases are received throughout the day, as the number of surgeries that were performed in the hospital last month reached 572 surgical operations and 5,000 emergency injuries with radiography services, laboratory analyzes and 17 specialties In neurosurgery, general, urology, burn unit and intensive care.

Dr. Nizar Suleiman, head of the orthopedic division in the hospital, stated that the medical services are divided into two sections: fractures and traumatology. Every day, between 10 to 15 orthopedic surgeries and emergency fractures, pelvic and thigh fractures are performed, and most of them are free of charge with all you need from metal plates, accessories and means of fixation with medicines and serums.

Citizen Muhammad Sobhi Walo indicated that a surgical operation was performed on his elderly father, where the prostate was removed, and medical and treatment services were provided completely and free of charge. In Zahi Azraq Hospital, Dr. Basil Suleiman, the director of the hospital, stated in a statement to SANA that the hospital is specialized in providing treatment services for communicable and chronic diseases, and during the Corona pandemic, patients infected with the virus were received and the necessary medical examinations were conducted, such as radiographs and analyzes, and provided treatment and hospitalization in full, in addition to the services of specialized clinics for diseases. At the Surgical College Hospital, Dr. Muhammad Al-Bif, the medical director of the hospital, drew attention to the services provided to dialysis patients, where 150 daily dialysis sessions are performed for patients through three shifts and for free, in addition to the services of the kidney surgery ward, through which surgical kidney operations and radical cystectomy and prostatectomy are performed, as well as Lithotripsy department.

The patient, Muhammad Sorour, said that he visits the hospital two days a week to conduct free dialysis sessions and receives all care and attention.
