Two people were rescued from a shipwreck in the waters off Tai Mo Dao Chau, Tuen Mun. The 67-year-old man surnamed Zhou is still missing.
Today (20th), the fire department dispatched frogmen to search for the missing persons. The Marine Department and the Marine Police also patrolled the sea. The search and rescue operations were still successful in the evening.
It is understood that search and rescue personnel found some frozen meat packaging objects in the sea area where the accident occurred, and are investigating whether it is related to the case.
The three people who fell into the sea were all locals, aged between 33 and 67.
The police classified the case as a boat capsize and search and rescue in Hong Kong waters, and are investigating why the victim took a sampan at the above site.
The incident happened at about 11 pm on Wednesday (19th) when three men took a 10-meter-long sampan out to sea, and an accident occurred when they reached the waters north of Damodao. The report said that the sampan fell into the water and turned over, and someone on board fell into the sea.
A large number of rescuers rushed to the scene on rescue boats to search, and finally the marine police found 33-year-old Chen and 42-year-old Huang men on the sea.
They put on life jackets and were still awake when they were rescued. They were first taken by rescue boats to Wai Fung Garden Pier in Tuen Mun, and then taken to Tuen Mun Hospital by ambulance for treatment.
However, the whereabouts of the 67-year-old man surnamed Zhou is still unknown. It is known that he was wearing a life jacket when he was in danger.
And until today (20th) at about 1:00 am, the helicopter of the flight service team was called to arrive at the scene and hovered over the scene to search.
