At least two people were killed and 22 others were injured today when an explosive device exploded in a crowded shopping area in the Pakistani city of Lahore.
A Lahore police spokesman told AFP: The initial investigations indicate that the explosion was caused by a timed explosive device planted on a motorcycle.
Medical and security sources confirmed the killing of two people, including a child, and the injury of 22 others in the attack, which took place in Anarkali, a busy shopping district in Old Lahore.
No group claimed responsibility for the blast, but several explosions and attacks have targeted police since December, when the Taliban claimed responsibility for most of those attacks.
