Significant change in US vaccine policy: Dr. Anthony Pucci, President Joe Biden's special adviser on plague crisis, announced today (Thursday) that the US Food and Drug Administration may announce Pfizer's corona vaccine next month. For use in children under five.
"I hope we are going to start vaccinating children under the age of five next month, or near it, but I can not guarantee that," Pucci said during a charity for soldiers' families in the United States military.
Pauchi said children at these ages would probably need three doses of the vaccine because studies have shown that two doses do not provide the protection needed to prevent serious illness in this age group.
Vaccinating children at a young age will virtually complete the entire age range for a corona vaccine and will allow, potentially and given a great response to vaccination, to vaccinate almost the entire population.
Meanwhile, in the United States itself, during the past week, there has been a decrease in the rate of infection and the level of morbidity in some of the centers of infection in recent weeks.
The states of New York and New Jersey have recorded a significant decrease in the rate of infection and also in other states there has been a reduction in the load of inpatients in hospitals.
In New York City only 28,000 new infections were registered on Sunday compared to more than 40,000 new infections a week earlier.
"Corona contagion forecast is improving. Corona clouds appear to be moving forward," New York State Gov. Katie Hochul said in a statement to the media.
