The US Supreme Court has rejected former President Donald Trump's request to block the delivery of documents to Congress related to the attack on the Capitol last year.
Yesterday, according to Agence France-Presse, the Supreme Court upheld by a vote of eight to one, the ruling by a federal appeals court rejecting Trump's request to keep the documents confidential.
Trump tried to prevent the documents held by the National Archives being handed over to the congressional committee investigating the Capitol assault by his supporters, as he sought to use his power as a former president to keep White House records secret in an attempt to keep those related to the assault away from the committee.
On January 6 last year, Trump supporters stormed the Capitol building at his instigation, as violence in the Capitol killed four people and arrested 52 others.
