Weather for Friday January 21: lower temperatures and wind

2022-01-20T18:56:18.324Z

Temperatures continue to fall in January, as is the season, especially with the arrival of a cool wind from the North Sea.

The high pressure of the last few days remains present on the territory on Friday, indicates La Chaîne Météo.

It is gradually shifting towards Ireland, thus causing a shift in winds and therefore a drop in temperatures.

There will be no snow or rain but a local risk of morning ice on the roads in the east of the country.

The weather in your area:

In the North-West,

the clearings are beautiful with a light northeast wind.

The frosts are quite widespread in the morning, sometimes as far as the coast.

In the afternoon, the temperatures are seasonal.

For Île-de-France and Hauts-de-France

, the morning is clear and cold with frequent frosts.

Then, as the day progresses, clouds form and alternate with clearings, but it will not rain.

After the morning frosts, the temperatures are hardly seasonal in the afternoon, especially since a light north wind is felt.

In the northeast,

the sky is cloudier, especially along the Benelux borders. A few rare drizzles mixed with flakes may fall in the Ardennes, but this remains insignificant. Beware of possible patches of ice in the morning on roads that have remained wet from the day before, due to a few frosts. The atmosphere remains cold during the day, mainly due to the cloudy sky.

In the South-West,

gray weather persists in the morning south of the Garonne but the peaks of the Pyrenees emerge in the sun with a strong cold north wind. The sky is clear north of the Garonne but snowy clouds hang over Limousin and northern Auvergne. They will eventually break up during the day. It is cold, with frosts in the morning and below average temperatures in the afternoon. The cold is made more biting with the wind.

In the Center-East,

the grayness and the cold are present for a good part of the day, from the north of Auvergne to Lyon, Dauphiné and Savoie, with sometimes a few small snowflakes from 400 meters. The northeast wind accentuates the cold with the north wind on the reliefs. In the afternoon, clearings finally break through. The Alps remain sunnier.

To the south-east,

we must distinguish Languedoc-Roussillon, which is very clear, but where Mistral and Tramontana blow all day.

The feeling there is cold.

Then we have the Côte d'Azur, less windy but with variable skies.

The feeling is more pleasant there and the good weather reigns over the southern Alps.

Finally, Corsica is experiencing more mixed weather with threatening clouds sometimes carrying a few showers.

The wind is rather weak on the island of Beauty.
