An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale hit the border area between Myanmar and India today.
Reuters quoted the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center as saying: "The tremor struck at a depth of 58 km, and its epicenter was located 127 km southeast of the city of Aizwal in India and 19 km north of Phalam in Myanmar.
There were no reports of human casualties or material damage.
