During an operation in a bar in Tsim Sha Tsui, a plainclothes policeman was involved in being identified by his middle school classmates. As a result, he was imprisoned and beaten, and was stripped of his clothes to snatch his belongings. Earlier, five men involved in the case were charged with illegal confinement.
Today (21st) another 22-year-old unemployed man was charged with the same count of unlawful confinement and was arraigned at the Kowloon City Court.
The prosecution's application did not require a reply for the time being, and the case was adjourned to March 8 for further investigation by the police, including telephone, computer and DNA tests. The defendant did not apply for bail.
