Argentina to Russia: Betrayed by Iranian official wanted by Interpol | Israel today

The Argentine Foreign Ministry and the judicial system have asked Russia to extradite the senior Iranian official, after a mistake was made in identifying Muhsan Razai, the former commander of the Revolutionary Guards.

Argentina has asked Russia for the extradition of an Iranian official wanted by Interpol.

In Buenos Aires it was estimated that Mohsan Razai, the former commander of the Revolutionary Guards, wanted by Interpol (International Police) and against whom there is a red order, was in Moscow with Ibrahim Raisi's presidential delegation, but this may be a mistake.

The Argentine Foreign Ministry and judicial system appear to have made a mistake in identifying when they sought the extradition of Mohsen Rezaee, a former Revolutionary Guards commander accused of involvement in a 1994 attack on a Jewish community building in the South American country.

However, there is no evidence of the presence of the wanted man in the entourage of Raisi, who visited Moscow in favor of a first meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

But this is another person with a similar last name, Ibrahim Rezaei, head of the Iran-Russia Friendship Committee in the Majles, who did stay there and even met with senior Russian officials because of his position.

The Argentine Foreign Ministry rejected the allegations of wrongdoing and stressed that they had received information that there was a chance that the Iranian wanted man with the surname "Razai" intended to fly to Moscow in the coming week.

"The Foreign Ministry learned through the Argentine embassy in Iran, where the Iranian president's visit to Russia was reported on Wednesday, January 19, that Razai is part of the Iranian delegation in Moscow," local sources told Clarin.

According to details obtained by the Argentine newspaper, Interpol in Moscow explained that the person was not recognized in the police records.

"If we receive more information - we will treat it as required," they said in response.

As you may recall, on the 11th of the month, the presence of the Secretary of the Security Council of the Iranian regime, Muhsan Razai, at the swearing-in ceremony of Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua caused an international uproar.

The storm erupted after it became known that he was flying as Iran's official representative, despite having an Interpol extradition order against him due to his alleged involvement in the deadly 1994 attack on Argentina's Jewish community building.
