More than 100 detainees were killed or injured today (Friday) in a prison run by a Houthi rebel in northern Yemen by the Saudi coalition, rescue workers said.
Hours earlier, another airstrike in the western port city of Khudaida has cut off the Arab country in the world from the Internet.
Satellite images obtained by the AP news agency confirmed that a communications center in the city, which is essential for Yemen's Internet connection, was damaged in the Saudi-led coalition attack.
It has also attacked areas near the capital Sanaa, which has been controlled by pro-Iranian Shiite rebels since 2014. The
intense airstrikes are likely the coalition's response to a Houthi offensive against the UAE on Tuesday this week.
The Houthis have launched drones and missiles at Abu Dhabi, the capital of the principality participating in the Saudi coalition's air campaign. The coalition supports the Yemeni government recognized by the international community.
