A new fire engine, additional siren systems and various items of equipment: the municipality of Finsing will be investing heavily in the Finsing and Eicherloh fire brigades in the near future.

They submitted a total of five applications.

Finsing

- The largest investment is the procurement of a fire engine TLF 3000 Staffel for Eicherloh. In their application, the commanders Dominik Halbritter and Florian Grabmeier recall that the fire service had already applied for the procurement of a type LF 10 fire engine for 2022 in December 2019. The council had approved it.

In the spring of 2020, however, the announcement was made that all procurements - and thus also the fire engine - would have to be postponed for the time being due to the pandemic. The fire brigade then used the time to analyze the actual vehicle requirements in terms of equipment and size. In cooperation with the Erding District Fire Inspectorate, it turned out that a TLF 3000 squadron instead of an LF 10 could be considered for optimal danger and damage prevention.

When asked at the meeting, Halbritter explained that since the beginning of the Corona period, fewer people have been going to the operations in order to reduce the risk of infection. "We have tactically aligned ourselves to that": You have three vehicles with which you can deploy the required team, even if the new one only holds six instead of nine people. Halbritter explained the tank capacity of 3000 liters: "We have many areas in the community where the fire water supply is no longer quite as good as it used to be." The fire brigade requirement plan has already been revised, and nothing stands in the way of the vehicle and eligible procurement .

The current fire engine in Eicherloh is now 25 years old and has considerable age-related damage.

Although the firefighters would repair themselves on their own, which is feasible.

But damage such as a defective cab suspension, a leaky diesel tank, oil loss from the gearbox and pump and a crack in the crew cab are just a few examples of why a replacement is urgently needed.

Council member Robert Schönhofen (CSU), as the owner of a specialist automotive workshop, had examined the current fire-fighting vehicle at the request of the commander and administration.

He confirmed a number of defects and explained that the new procurement should be tackled quickly, because it could take up to four years from order to delivery - "then the vehicle will be 29 to 30 years old".

The commanders also see an acute need for action.

The delivery times of the manufacturers are currently "exorbitantly" long, "so that it would make sense for us to place the order early".

Pricing is also constantly changing – upwards.

Any further delay will result in a series of problems that could result in unnecessary additional costs.

Halbritter and Grabmeier are therefore requesting that the tender process begin in the spring.

Franz Keimeleder (FWF), as a self-employed master motor vehicle technician, is not quite so pessimistic about the defects: "Two years or not - there is no acute danger", the situation is not really dramatic, he concluded on the basis of the List of defects that Schönhofen had brought with him.

Mayor Max Kressirer (WGE) also said that you could definitely drive it for another two or three years.

"But we know that we won't get the vehicle tomorrow if we order it today." Dieter Heilmair (CSU) also explained that it made no sense to postpone the purchase again: "There is simply a certain lead time, we have to Set the course now.” And so it was agreed that the purchase of the new vehicle would be scheduled for 2023.

According to Kressirer, funds of almost 500,000 euros would have to be made available for this.

In addition, the committee approved the replacement or new procurement of devices and pieces of equipment in the amount of almost 42,000 euros for the Finsing fire brigade and almost 29,000 euros for the Eicherloher Wehr.

Hoses and a training door are also to be bought jointly for around 5000 euros.

In addition, they want to install a nationwide alarm system via sirens.

The application mentions a total of six locations, which was signed by Halbritter and Grabmeier as well as Finsingen commanders Martin Kneißl and Bernhard Huber (report to follow).
