(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 21 - The Department of study, analysis and monitoring of criminal and mafia phenomena of the Pontifical Academia Mariana Internationalis, in collaboration with the Museum of Civilizations of Rome, has organized the exhibition History of the mafias which traces the events that they marked with unprecedented ferocity the history of our country and in particular that of the First Republic.
The exhibition collects documents and photographs from the archives of DIA - Antimafia Investigative Directorate; Parliamentary Anti-Mafia Commission; Historical Museum of the Carabinieri, Superior Council of the Judiciary, from ANSA and Avvenire.
The exhibition supports the International Congress "History of the mafia. Evolution and future scenarios in the post-covid era", promoted by the Academy with the aim of delineating the alternatives to "mafia pedagogies" and their goal of polluting the coexistence and its democratic foundations, on a transnational and global level.
The congress will take place online from 25 to 27 January.
The exhibition will instead be inaugurated on the morning of Wednesday 26 January in Rome with an event in attendance.
