The Hamburg gastronomy trade fair Internorga will be postponed by around six weeks due to the sharp increase in corona numbers.
Instead of March 18th to 22nd, the fair is now to present developments in the catering and hotel industry from April 30th to May 4th at the fairgrounds of the Hanseatic city.
Hamburg – “The rapid progression of the fourth corona wave, with high levels of infection reported every day, currently does not allow a reliable forecast to be made as to whether the situation can be expected to calm down by the originally planned date of mid-March,” said the trade fair company on Friday.
With the relocation, those responsible “ensure that the event can be held in the usual quality and that it can be presented to the specialist audience with the greatest possible safety”.
In the past two years, Internorga was canceled as a face-to-face trade fair due to the corona pandemic.

“We are aware of the increasing uncertainty among all those involved over the past 14 days and we take this seriously.
But the need in the industry to finally meet again in person and exchange ideas is very great, ”said trade fair boss Bernd Aufderheide according to the announcement.
"In this respect, we are pleased to be able to offer this alternative date." dpa
