An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale hit southern Japan today, but no injuries or damages were reported.
Reuters quoted the Japan Meteorological Agency as saying that the epicenter of the quake was off the coast of the southernmost island of Kyushu, among the four main islands of Japan.
No tsunami warning was issued and there were no immediate reports of damage.
