- In the municipality of Herrsching, various tree fellings are pending before the end of February, which are necessary to ensure road safety. Mayor Christian Schiller announced this on Wednesday. Among other things, old silver willows have to be felled at Mühlfeld 8 (Herrschinger Segelclub) and on Fischergasse (green area on the Kienbach near the bridge to Kienbachstraße).
"The tree inspector informed the municipality in spring 2021 that the trees would have to be felled at short notice from an economic point of view, due to severe static damage and the resulting acute traffic hazard," explains Schiller.
After spring was in full swing at the time, the municipality decided to make provisional arrangements to secure the trees for the next few months with tree care measures, thus enabling birds, bats and other residents to successfully complete the rearing of the young.
"The trees are now being felled in order to avoid further, only short-term effective and expensive safety measures," emphasizes Schiller.
Tree felling work will begin next Monday, January 24th.
