The epidemic in Hong Kong is raging, and the government announced earlier that in response to the influx of Omicron variant virus strains into the community, less than two weeks before the opening, the New Year's Eve Flower Market will be urgently suspended.

Local flower farmers have been hit hard and must find a way to sell flowers, otherwise they will lose everything.

In view of this, Chinachem Group will hold a limited-time "Hundred Flowers Blooming New Year Flower Market" in its shopping malls and hotels from next Monday (24th).

The flower market in Central Market, which Chinachem is responsible for, has already opened on Wednesday (19th), and there are 5 local flower farmers participating.

The Group believes that the flower market can help disperse the flow of people and avoid crowds gathering during the epidemic.

Chinachem Group will hold a flower market on the 2nd floor of Tsuen Wan West Nina Plaza, the lobby of Tsuen Wan West Nina Hotel, and the B1 floor of Pianhui Fang, Tseung Kwan O. 6 local flower farmers have participated temporarily. Pianhuifang occupies 2 stalls.

The above flower market will be held from January 24 to 31, from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm every day to support affected local flower farmers.

As for the Central Market, which is operated and managed by Chinachem Group, the first flower market opened this Wednesday (19th), which is expected to accommodate 12 flower stalls.

At present, 5 local flower farmers have participated, and there is still ample space, including "GGB", "Sang Sang Garden", "Flower World", etc., providing a variety of local New Year flowers for the public to buy, including orchids, peach blossoms, narcissus, Orange and so on.

A spokesman for Chinachem Group pointed out that the affected flower farmers are now being invited to the market to sell their New Year flowers, and will not charge the venue rent, but only collect commissions for operating costs as appropriate.

Flower stalls will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and flower farmers affected by the cancellation of the flower market will be given priority.

The spokesman also pointed out that the flower market will comply with the government's anti-epidemic measures and regulations, and additionally arrange intelligent disinfection robots for regular cleaning, and will also deploy additional manpower to implement crowd control.

The spokesman believes that this event not only helps local flower farmers to tide over the difficulties, but also provides more places for the public to buy New Year flowers, which will help spread the flow of people and avoid excessive crowds gathering during the epidemic.
