Pöcking

– One of the last historic farmsteads in Pöcking was demolished last year due to dilapidation: the Friedinger Hof on Feldafinger Straße, the origins of which are documented as far back as the 17th century.

The owners of the area, a community of heirs, now want to revitalize the ensemble and build the planned new building in the style of the farmhouse.

The building and environment committee of the municipal council received the application for a change in the development plan this week. Because the applicants intend to extend and postpone the construction window and to use the new building for residential and commercial purposes. Agricultural use had already been relocated to the outside area in 2010 after the inheritance.

Mayor Rainer Schnitzler campaigned for the project. It hurts his soul when he sees the large vacant lot in the immediate vicinity of the town hall and kindergarten. "Something new needs to be done," said Schnitzler, "and I would be happy if the old farmstead was revived." The applicants wanted a good solution for the entire area. He recalled that the municipality relied on the support of the community of heirs when it came to a sidewalk from the western parts of the village to the elementary school.

City planner Manuela Skorka explained the building plans. The main building is to be extended to the west. Instead of the former cowshed, a transverse building is to be docked in the middle of the north side of the main building. She suggested moving this extension further back so as not to detract from the appearance of the main building. It would be more advantageous to build a new solitary building with a connection to the main building instead of the former stable. Both variants should be discussed with the building contractor. Skorka welcomed the creation of an underground car park, which would reduce above-ground parking spaces.

As Andrea Herold, spokeswoman for the community of heirs, told Starnberger Merkur, the heirs want to implement the construction project on their own. A few years ago, the BRK district association was interested in the area. On request, district manager Jan Lang confirmed the search for a new domicile for the BRK in the district in order to concentrate the district office, which is spread over several locations, as well as services such as outpatient nursing service, housekeeping service or meals on wheels in Pöcking. They also kept an eye on the Friedinger site. "It was difficult to reconcile the different interests of the community of heirs and ours," said Lang.

In the end, imponderables in terms of timing and building regulations put "big question marks" behind the project. "We weren't sure whether we could have adequately implemented our structural requirements on Feldafinger Strasse." The district association wanted to have security for 30 to 40 years and not be faced with spatial problems again in five years. Lang: "That's why we ticked the Friedinger area."

After she hadn't heard anything concrete from the BRK and another interested party had jumped off, the community of heirs would now act without another investor, Herold explained.

Where the farmhouse stood, a residential building with rental apartments is to be built.

The replacement building for the cowshed is intended for offices.

"My idea is to set up a self-help group there via the state association for relatives of the mentally ill, of which I am a member," says Herold.

A family café and a farm shop for marketing regional products are planned for the outbuildings.
