Paul Smith: “The new wave has always inspired me”

INTERVIEW – The British designer unveils his collection on video: a daily wardrobe with added soul and relaxed elegance.

If Sir Paul signs his return to his Parisian offices on rue des Archives, it will still be necessary to wait before attending a parade in public.

This season, it is on video, behind closed doors and on music by Richard Hartley, that the Briton unveils next winter.

Very successful combinations of printed under-pullovers and lightly constructed overshirts, alongside magnificent hand-knitted woolen jumpers,

trousers and other loose duffle-coats inspired by David Bowie.

A daily wardrobe with added soul and relaxed elegance.

- What is the starting point of this collection?

I was obsessed with posters, very avant-garde, full of color.

We started from these posters to create prints.
