When can I finally retire?
Many policyholders ask themselves this question.
Who may retire this year, what to consider.
Munich – The number of pensioners* increases enormously every year, while the number of contributors decreases.
Three people now work for one pensioner.
According to economists, this gap is likely to widen further in the future.
People born in 1956 can retire this year.
The regular entry age for this cohort is 65 years and ten months.
For the following cohorts, the entry age will continue to rise as it is gradually raised.
The maximum is currently 67 years.
Pension: This year can go without deductions
Anyone who was born in 1956 and has paid for at least five years can apply for their pension in the current year and will then receive the standard old-age pension* without deductions for the first time.
However, if you want to continue working, you can do so and apply for the pension later.
This will also affect the account later.
Every month that you work longer brings a pension plus of 0.5 percent.
Checklist: You need this information to apply for your pension
Insurance number, tax identification number, employer, name and address
Bank details (IBAN/BIC)
Vocational training: Evidence (e.g. apprenticeship contract);
Insurance documents for missing insurance periods (school, technical school, university certificates from the age of 17, insurance cards / offsetting certificates, proof of unemployment and illness)
Company pension: Name/address of the paying body, reference number
Children: birth certificate
Pension notification or the last pension adjustment notification from the pension service (if you are already drawing a pension)
But then there is a special regulation that also enables younger cohorts to retire in 2022.
Anyone wishing to use this option, the old-age pension for those who have been insured for a particularly long time, must be able to demonstrate a minimum insurance period of 45 years.
So if you started working at the age of 16 and have worked all your life, you can leave earlier - without any deductions.
Retirement at 63: People born in 1959 can go with deductions
In addition, there is the pension from 63*.
Those born in 1959 will reach this age in 2022. Anyone born in this year and with at least 35 years of insurance may also retire.
Here, however, insured
persons have to
accept a discount of 11.4 percent, as

.
The regular retirement age would be 66 years and two months, and each month that is brought forward makes a 0.3 percent deduction.
