This year will be a year of "being in between" for the municipality of Straßlach-Dingharting.

Many projects are planned in the next twelve months.

And then only really visibly tackled in 2023.

With regard to the expansion of the kindergarten in Straßlach, there will probably be nothing again this year with an opening.

For a long time nothing went on here on the construction site.

"We made calls for tenders that nobody applied for," reports Mayor Hans Sienerth (independent).

Residential complex for the elderly

In addition, the municipality wants to get something going for older people - Straßlach-Dingharting is in the process of building a residential complex for senior citizens. This was based on a detailed survey. Now the whole thing is to be presented to the public, which will be quite exciting. The municipality has not yet revealed where the new building will go. Sienerth only says so much: "The new building is to be built in a central location in Straßlach." A day care center, a café, perhaps a care hotel are to be integrated into the building. Here, too, construction is initially on paper, and the project could be inaugurated in 2026. The demand should be high, the head of the town hall is certain: "We already have 500 residents over the age of 70, in ten years there will be another 200 more."

The extension will not be finished until 2023.

At the same time, a multi-family house is also being planned for young families and single people, specifically where the former Raiffeisenbank building still stands.

Here, too, the groundbreaking will not take place until 2023, and the project is being funded by the Free State.

"As soon as kindergarten is over, we want to start with it."

Away from fossil fuels

Climate protection is to be promoted together with the climate protection manager, who shares Straßlach-Dingharting with Schäftlarn.

A wood chip plant for municipal properties, a conversion to LED, an energy saving program are being considered - but everything has yet to be presented to the municipal council.

"We want to get away from fossil fuels": That's for sure.

In addition, excavators and cranes could arrive in Großdingharting this year.

It looks like the first houses of the new local model Talfeld Nord will be built.

In any case, the first plots have already been sold.

Financially well positioned

Otherwise, the community is still doing well financially in the second year of the pandemic.

"We notice that the income isn't quite as bubbling anymore," admits Sienerth, "but we were still able to generate a surplus."

All projects that were planned could be realized.

A vision for Straßlach-Dingharting in the coming years?

"We want participation in social life to be even better," says Sienerth.

Means: The inner-city transport connections should also be improved, and buses may also be set up, which the community operates.

"I wish," said the mayor, "that solidarity in our community is not just lip service."
