Ski jumping Olympic champion Andreas Wellinger tested positive for the corona virus two weeks before the Winter Games in Beijing.

The German Ski Association (DSV) informed about this on Friday at the World Cup in Titisee-Neustadt.

The 26-year-old, who won gold in singles in Pyeongchang in 2018, canceled his journey to the Black Forest and now has to isolate himself.

Titisee-Neustadt – Wellinger actually wanted to fight for an Olympic ticket for China (February 4th to 20th) this weekend.

The former top jumper had to sit out last weekend in Zakopane because of a knee injury.
