United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has warned of the possibility of the emergence of new strains of the Corona virus that will be more dangerous to the world than the mutant Omicron.
“We must move to the state of emergency system in the battle against Corona,” Guterres said in a speech today before the United Nations General Assembly, noting that the mutant Omicron is a new warning and the next version will be the most dangerous.
Guterres considered that stopping the spread of the virus infection must represent an essential item on the global agenda everywhere without using the virus as a cover to undermine human rights and reduce civil liberties and freedom of the press.
The Secretary-General of the United Nations called for the continuation of the global vaccination campaign, especially in light of the delay in its pace and the failure to achieve the goals that were set, pointing out that science has clearly shown that vaccines work and save lives.
Guterres renewed criticism of the International Organization for the unfair distribution of anti-vaccines, and said that "the distribution of vaccines is conducted unevenly, to the point of a scandal, so the vaccination must be made collective."
