Two cities in Rhineland-Palatinate with an incidence of over 1000

The seven-day incidence of the corona pandemic in Rhineland-Palatinate has peaked for the sixth day in a row.
On Friday, the state investigation office identified 623.7 infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week.
On Thursday it was 546.3.
Mainz – For the first time there are two cities with an incidence of more than 1000. The seven-day incidence was highest in the state capital Mainz with 1036.3.
This was followed by the city of Kaiserslautern (1034.5), the district of Bad Kreuznach (935.5) and the district of Kaiserslautern (882.2).
The lowest incidence was 327.6 in the district of Neuwied.
The number of new infections recorded by the health authorities also reached another high at 6237.
A corona infection has currently been detected in 55,302 people (as of 2:10 p.m.) in Rhineland-Palatinate.
So many people have never been infected at the same time.
At the peak of the second wave at the end of December 2020, there were a maximum of 20,460. The state investigation office gave the proportion of the virus variant omicron in the infections genetically examined in the laboratory at 91.9 percent.

Pandemic in Rhineland-Palatinate is spreading faster
The hospitalization incidence, which has hardly changed in the past few weeks - hospital admissions per week per 100,000 inhabitants - is now significantly higher.
This value rose from 4.42 to 4.96 in 24 hours.
This is the highest value since regular recording by the state health department in September 2021. The number of reported deaths from Covid 19 patients increased by 7 to 4767 on Friday.
