After “ frank and substantial
” discussions
in Geneva, the American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, and the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, will continue the dialogue.
"
We didn't expect a major breakthrough today, but I think we are now on the right path to understanding everyone's concerns and positions
," the US official said.
The two ministers agreed to meet again in February and to establish a “
reasonable dialogue
” so that “
the emotion falls
”.
In the meantime, Antony Blinken has asked the Russians to withdraw their troops from the Ukrainian border.
He warned that the United States would respond to aggression from Moscow, “
including non-military ones
”.
And claimed that Washington will present “
ideas
” in writing to the Russian side next week.
“Non-negotiable” requirements
The US Secretary of State did not specify whether these "
ideas
" to defuse the crisis would be a response to the demands made by Russia.
