Starting next week, non-vaccinated students with negative corona tests will again be able to take part in lectures and exercises at the universities in Baden-Württemberg.

The Ministry of Science announced on Friday that the previously applicable 2G regulation will be suspended from Monday (January 24).

The Administrative Court (VGH) had previously agreed with an unvaccinated student and declared the freezing of alert level II with severe restrictions for the unvaccinated to be partially unlawful.

Mannheim - According to the ministry, the 3G rule will apply again from Monday at the universities in Baden-Württemberg. Students must therefore prove that they have been vaccinated, recovered or tested negative - in addition to the mask requirement. The restriction also applies to cafeterias and canteens, as it was said. In addition, the so-called full controls remain if the event has up to 50 participants. In the case of larger university dates, access will be checked in random samples.

On the other hand, the unvaccinated student had complained that alert level II led to the extensive exclusion of non-immunized people from face-to-face events.

The VGH suspended the part of the Corona Ordinance on study operations from next Monday.

The provision is "presumably unlawful".

If the government had stayed true to its original limit values, it should have been relaxed a long time ago.

The freezing of alert level II, which was originally planned until the end of January, contradicts the federal infection protection law.
