The Pliening fire brigade is looking for additional emergency services.

Even "lateral entrants" without previous knowledge are very welcome.

Pliening – The Pliening volunteer fire brigade is currently running a smart campaign to recruit new members.

Also “lateral entrants” are welcome, as commander Christian Erl says.

Together with Ludwig Huber, he developed funny and at the same time serious pictures and sayings and posted them on social channels.

For example: “We have vacancies!

We offer: free work clothes, regulated working hours (24/7), camaraderie, big company cars, performance-related remuneration: It's a good feeling to have helped - 112% volunteer work".

In addition, a photo with several lockers, one of which is empty.

"Later changers", without previous knowledge, are very welcome at the Plieninger

It's not as if the Plieningen fire brigade is currently short of active members, says commander Erl. But: "The more people, the better - and the more availability is guaranteed," says the 34-year-old.

As with other volunteer fire brigades, it happens in Pliening that you lose active people because they move away from the community.

On the other hand: "In the Corona period 2020 and 2021, seven career changers between the ages of 24 and 43 years came to us," reports the commander.

Anyone can become a "career changer" in the fire service, and no previous firefighting knowledge is required.

"The knowledge is imparted in the training and exercises as well as in courses," says Erl. "So everyone can join in and help."

Not just new advertising posters - the homepage is also to be completely renewed

Based on a well-known TV commercial, Christian Erl and Ludwig Huber have created another collage with the words: "Your car!" (a large fire engine can be seen), "Your place!" (an empty locker) and "Your place of work! “ (the fire station that opened a year ago). The volunteer fire brigade takes the new fire station as an opportunity to revise the website. According to Erl, the new website should go online in about four weeks. The new advertising images and slogans are already available to whet your appetite. As an aperitif for the new homepage and as a stimulus to join the Pliening fire brigade.

According to the commander, it currently has 57 active members, as well as twelve young people (12 to 18 years) in the youth group and 16 children from the age of six in the children's fire brigade.

Last year, the FFW Pliening went on 23 missions.
