The gas price will not increase in 2022: The energy supplier E.ON sent this good news to a Pegnitzer 24 times.

He takes it easy.

Nuremberg – The energy supplier E.ON meant it too well: it sent 24 identical letters to a Pegnitzer*.

The good news: The tariff for gas purchases will not increase in 2022.

That was "in view of the currently skyrocketing energy prices, certainly a very gratifying message," says the recipient, a father of several families, to

nordbayern.de

.

However, a letter would have sufficed.

To be on the safe side, the man opened all shipments.

That didn't bring any added value.

Pegnitzer receives the same letter 24 times: is it a computer error?

The Pegnitzer suspects a computer error behind the flood of letters.

"Nothing at all surprises him anymore".

He takes it calmly and thinks of those who really suffer: "In the interest of the already overburdened postman, we can only hope that this was a one-time mistake and that not all E.ON customers were literally showered with luck."

E.ON spokesman Mario Leikopf has no explanation for the breakdown.

"For this we need the exact customer data and the consent of the customer," he explained when asked by

nordbayern.de

.

His colleague Arno Schleef also regrets the lapse.

The matter will be looked into.

Online communication doesn't always work

E.ON stands for a sustainable energy future, says Schleef.

The company tries to save paper where possible - especially with recurring letters.

Customers can therefore also receive invoices and contract documents "quickly and easily by e-mail".

That doesn't always seem to work.

Another E.ON customer recently complained about the unsustainable communication with the energy supplier: “Again and again, mail and tons of paper.

Again and again the request to send the documents by e-mail.” His conclusion: “Unfortunately that will not be changed.

From the point of view of environmental protection, this is a catastrophe.”
