The farewell gifts for Armin Laschet and Paul Ziemiak irritate many.
About these iPads – with apps!
– enjoys the network.
Berlin – apps to say goodbye.
Ex-CDU leader Armin Laschet and former Secretary General Paul Ziemiak received a special gift.
True to the line digital party congress there was: An iPad.
The new CDU leader Friedrich Merz handed the two of them a tablet each in Berlin on Saturday and said: "The decisive thing is what's on it."
The Rhinelander Laschet received apps from Candy Crush, Alemannia Aachen and Bayern Munich, among others - but also subscriptions to international media such as the
New York Times, The Guardian
, Le Monde and the Vatican Radio app.
He now sits on the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Bundestag.
And Merz also explicitly referred to the Stepps sports app.
A hidden dig?
Does Laschet have to do more sport?
For Ziemiak's device, the CDU chose, among other things, the app from Borussia Dortmund - "our common team", as Merz said.
CDU party conference: Laschet and Ziemiak get iPads as a farewell gift – a gift that causes irritation
Reactions on Twitter were not long in coming.
"iPad - the latest craze!" tweeted the Saarland SPD deputy Jürgen Renner.
A user immediately makes a guess: “An iPad will be offered for sale on Ebay in Berlin by 5 p.m. at the latest.”
And another commented: "Armin Laschet and Paul Ziemiak get an iPad from the CDU as a farewell gift.
But that's not the highlight at all.
THERE ARE APPS ON IT TOO!
How the party must hate its old leader and general secretary”.
