If there is a chase with the police, it is usually preceded by a crime.
Now a motorist had a rather strange reason.
Monroe (USA) - When drivers are in a chase with the police - then the reasons are usually the same: maybe you previously robbed a bank, robbed a pedestrian - or previously drove a race.
The fact that you have drunk alcohol illegally could also be a reason for fleeing from the officers.
But a man in the US state of Louisiana has now provided a reason that probably leaves even experienced police officers speechless, as reported by 24auto.de.

According to the police report, around 11 p.m., an officer noticed a 2006 Chevrolet Impala that was driving with the rear fog lights activated.
So the cop turned on the blue lights and siren to signal the driver to stop.
However, he did exactly the opposite and stepped on the gas: the man raced through 40 km/h zones at almost 100 km/h and ran over at least six stop signs.

Fast-paced chase - handcuffs and lots of trouble
When the Chevy speeder finally stopped, the driver got out of the car with a hamburger in his hand.
His curious reason for the crazy escape: He couldn't stop because his brakes had failed - and because he wanted to eat his hamburger, reports the "Miami Herald".

The police didn't care, the hungry speeder was handcuffed and arrested.
Now the man is threatened with trouble for several offenses: including fleeing from a police officer and driving without insurance and a driver's license.
