2022-01-22T08:43:59.013Z

Brian was sentenced this Friday by the Essonne Assize Court for shooting a man in March 2018, for a probable dispute.

The jurors went beyond the requisitions of the general counsel who had asked for seven years of imprisonment.

Brian, 24, was sentenced this Friday afternoon to 10 years' imprisonment by the Assize Court of Essonne, in Évry-Courcouronnes, for attempted murder.

He had shot and injured a man, then 27 years old, on March 23, 2018 in the Hautes Plaines district of Les Ulis.

Brian's father, also charged with attempted murder, was acquitted.

“I am happy to see this respected and respectable father finally rehabilitated by justice”, commented his lawyer, Me Arnaud Simonard.

Brian's brother, who had tried to hide the murder weapon shortly after the altercation received a 12-month suspended prison sentence.

José, a friend of the main defendant, suspected of having bought the automatic pistol and who handled a cartridge of this weapon, to 8 months in prison, suspended.

Both had no criminal record.

Several incidents the days before the shooting

The starting point of this case seems to be, according to the victim, a dispute concerning the holding of a deal point in the Hautes Plaines district. Brian and the victim grew up together. But according to her, who did not wish to attend the trial and left the region, they got confused. The latter seems to have wanted to take her independence, refusing to work for Brian. The accused denied having taken part in such trafficking. He is nevertheless indicted in the context of a go fast affair in the Oise.

The days preceding the events were dotted with incidents. On March 14, 2018, the victim landed in the Hautes Plaines with four men dressed in black and hooded, armed according to some witnesses, to tell the young people of the neighborhood that "no one will sell here anymore". Five days later, José, Brian's friend, had filed a complaint after being kidnapped, kidnapped and beaten. He later accused the victim of being one of the perpetrators of this abduction.

On March 23, shortly after 9 p.m., the victim had come across Brian's father in the Hautes Plaines.

She told investigators she struck the first blow.

Brian had then arrived armed and had fired at a distance estimated at 70 cm in the belly of the 27-year-old man.

The father and son then fled.

A friend of the victim had taken her to the hospital, which saved her life.

Brian admitted to being the author of the shooting but disputed any desire to kill, assuring that he had panicked when he saw his father fight.
