The permanent representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, renewed his call on the international community, led by the Security Council, to bypass statements and condemnations and take practical measures to provide international protection for the Palestinian people and stop the crimes of the Israeli occupation against them.
Wafa Agency reported that Mansour made it clear in three identical letters to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council and the President of the United Nations General Assembly that the Palestinians, especially in the occupied city of Jerusalem, face forced displacement as a result of a fierce Israeli campaign to expand settlements in a serious violation of international law, stressing that this An ongoing catastrophe before the eyes of the international community.
Mansour referred to the forced displacement of the Salhiya family in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem after the occupation demolished their house in a crime that was monitored and documented by the international community without taking any action to stop it, which reflects the extent of the impunity of the Israeli occupation and its contempt for international law and human rights.
Mansour pointed out that the impunity of the occupation authorities from accountability has reached its highest levels and persisted in its crimes against the Palestinians, and the colonial apartheid regime prevailed as a result of long decades of inaction by the international community and its failure to implement decisions related to the Palestinian cause, calling for immediate international action to stop the ongoing campaign of forced displacement in Sheikh Jarrah and Silwan Al-Tur and Al-Isawiya in occupied Jerusalem and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories.
