At 1:10 p.m. today (22nd), the police said that there was a fire at the curtain door on platform 2 of MTR Yau Tong Station, and fireworks erupted from it. The fire was put out afterward. No one was injured in the incident, and about 250 people needed to be evacuated.
It is understood that a fire is suspected to have caused the accident.
After the incident, engineers inspected doors 5 to 4 where the fire occurred. Firefighters went to Luke's position and raised fire extinguishing spray and sprayed it to the ceiling. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
As of 1:53 p.m., a MTR spokesman said Yau Tong Station was closed.
As of 2:27 pm, Yau Tong Station has reopened, and train services at Tseung Kwan O Yau Tong Station have resumed. Passengers can take the Tseung Kwan O Line at this station, while the train service between Tseung Keng Leng and Kwun Tong Station on the Kwun Tong Line is still suspended. .

As of 1:15 p.m., a MTR spokesman pointed out that the equipment of the platform curtain door at Yau Tong Station on the Kwun Tong Line was faulty, and the train service from Tiu Keng Leng to Kwun Tong Station was suspended.
Kwun Tong to Whampoa Station runs every 4 minutes. Tseung Kwan O Line trains do not stop at Yau Tong Station.
MTR is now arranging shuttle buses to pick up passengers from Kwun Tong to Yau Tong Station. Passengers are advised to allow sufficient time for the journey.
