The planned activity center, which should also create new changing rooms for the ice rink, continues to cause discussions - also in the most recent main and finance committee meeting.

The trigger was an article in this newspaper about the financing plans of TSV Peißenberg.

Peißenberg

– Except for the item “Information” on the agenda, the town hall administration had not actually planned a separate item on the agenda for the public part of the most recent meeting in the main and finance committee.

Nevertheless, this public part became the focus of interest.

Jürgen Forstner, spokesman for the Free Voters (FW) parliamentary group, had announced in the building committee the day before that his party colleague Walter Wurzinger would need to speak about the planned activity center.

Forstner referred to a newspaper article that appeared on the same day, which provided information on how TSV Peißenberg intends to finance its share of the costs of the active center.

"There are things that we have to talk about soon," says Forstner.

Was content misrepresented in the newspaper?

Well, the main and finance committees also talked. Wurzinger spoke up immediately after being greeted by Deputy Mayor and chairperson Robert Halbritter (SPD) - although in his opening statement it was initially not entirely clear which content he now wanted to announce specifically. Wurzinger referred to the newspaper article in which the 40,000 euro annual fee paid by the municipality to the TSV for operating the ice rink was discussed. According to Wurzinger, it "came across the wrong way" and "the impression was created" that the subsidy could flow into the future debt repayment of the financing loan planned by the TSV for the active center. Wurzinger thus suggested (as he later said when asked "unintentionally") that the homeland newspaper had misrepresented content.

The representation corresponds exactly to the facts

I receive an annual "business evaluation" from the TSV as an "accompanying audit measure": "And the municipality can inspect the books at any time." So much for the "flat rate", which, as Wurzinger explained to the local newspaper, is now a case for the audit committee must be.

Only in the further discussion did it become clear what the FW municipal council was really about: In Wurzinger's opinion, all voluntary services of the municipality should be put to the test.

Active center "tough nut for the community"

The market is the municipality in the district, which after all receives the highest key allocations from the Free State.

"We have to clarify how we will align Peißenberg financially for the next ten years."

Wurzinger suggested reopening the plans and focusing on a renovation and expansion of the existing changing area.

"Financially, that would be something worth considering," says Wurzinger.

It also had to be checked whether an activity center with exercise rooms was really needed or whether the existing gymnasiums and other public facilities would not provide enough space.

According to reports, the restructuring variant is not completely ruled out in internal discussions - on the contrary.

The fact that the old changing rooms are the responsibility of the municipal utilities and that the municipal company (KU) has so far given the thumbs-up to such a project is not seen as an insurmountable problem.

A possible extension of the outpatient rehabilitation clinic in the "Rigi-Rutsch'n" company building, which the KU is planning, would not rule out a renovation of the changing rooms, but could definitely be structurally combined.
