The Russian Defense Ministry announced that its Su-35 multirole fighters arrived in Belarus today as part of exercises to test the reaction forces of an ally country.

"The crews of the Russian Air Force will make flights to the maximum extent and land at Belarusian airports, in addition to joint preparations for re-take-off with Belarusian specialists," TASS news agency quoted sources in the ministry as saying in a press statement.

The ministry stated earlier that the tests will be in two phases, the first until February 9, when the redeployment and formation of groups of forces on the territory of Belarus will take place in the shortest possible time and the implementation of the tasks of protection and defense of important government and military facilities and the protection of state borders in the airspace will also be tested. Forces and air defense shifts to perform the tasks of protecting important installations.

As for the second phase of the testing process, it will be during the period from the 10th of next February to the 20th of the same month, where a joint maneuver entitled (Union Packages 2022) will be conducted in the framework of which a hypothetical external aggression will be thwarted and repelled, as well as training in combating terrorism and protecting the interests of an allied country.
